Why is the Holy Quran Needed More Than Ever in Today’s Era?

by Hassan Mehmood

While today’s era is touching the heights of material progress, humanity is simultaneously suffering from spiritual emptiness and a moral crisis. In such times, the Holy Quran emerges not merely as a sacred book, but as a complete code of life. In this blog, we will examine why the teachings of the Quran have become indispensable for our individual, professional, and social lives.

1. Spiritual and Individual Life

First of all, if we look at our spiritual and individual lives, the Quran is the eternal word of Allah, serving as the most precious means of establishing a direct connection between a servant and their Creator. The profound impact and distinct attributes of Allah Almighty are inherent in this divine discourse at all times. This is why our personal relationship with the Quran should not be limited to mere recitation; rather, with each passing day, the need to understand it, act upon it, and mold ourselves according to its principles has increased more than ever to ensure our spiritual nurturing.

2. Professional Life

Regarding professional life, it becomes evident that in today’s competitive era, degrees alone are not enough. We require an innovative environment and an ethical culture where a ‘value vocabulary’ does not remain mere words but becomes our core conduct. It is essential for professionals to make the true, enduring, and eternal teachings of the Holy Quran an integral part of their personality. Only by adhering to the principles laid down by the Quran can we achieve true success and create a positive impact in the practical field.

3. Societal and Global Level

On a societal and global level, the situation is deeply concerning. Collectively, despite exhausting all its intellectual and ideological energies, humanity has so far failed to present a reliable moral model that can establish peace and justice in the world. From the West to the East, current global circumstances reflect the reality that the world is trapped in an intellectual deadlock, and no international law or prevailing system is capable of answering humanity’s burning questions.

In this grave situation, the need of the hour is to understand the universal lessons of the Holy Quran in their real sense. We must extract practical solutions from the Quran that can not only reform our own society and country but also heal the suffering of the entire world. It is within the universal teachings of the Quran that guidance exists to bring a wandering humanity back to the straight path and lay the foundation for sustainable global peace.
